Decorating on a Dime...even if you don't have too.

My new jam (to borrow a phrase from my daughter) is decorating on the cheap. I don't have to...but it's so much fun. I begin by looking at Houzz ap.  It looks like I'm mindlessly flipping through pages but it's so much more. When I find a room or idea I love, I save it to myHouzz.  That's right its like shopping without leaving the house. Now to the shopping...my favorite part.
Online with Wayfair or Overstock and for the deals of the day. Curtainworks for the best deal for drapes. Only problem is they sell out fast so if you find some buy them fast. Home Goods, Marshals Target and Tuesday Morning are favs as well. Remember if you decorate by copying the expensive brands you can change your living spaces more often!

Inspired

Here we go. My first post on my first blog. Now what?  Inspiration!!!!! That's what. I'm really not a writer, I'm a talker. A big talker with big stories handed down and embellished from generation to generation. My dad was a talker as was his mother and his grandfather. My brother and sisters are talkers. My baby sister wisely stated that once a story has filtered through three McClendons, (my maiden name), it isn't true. I agree but it's probably better.

Is it really Spring Break if you don't go to school?

Since retiring from teaching,I have found less enthusiasm toward time off from work such as Spring Break. Previously I would start marking the days to this wonderful week at the beginning of the second semester. How many days until SB? Someone would ask and I would recite the weeks, days, hours, minutes ,seconds etc. Now I'm like "it's March already? It's spring break? What?"  That came really fast.
So this SB we hosted our grandsons for a few days of fast and furious including the Lego movie, lots of cool city parks and a fishing trip with grandpa. So much fun with these perfect gentlemen age 8 and 5. Who knew boys could be so much fun!

My Best Friend

Everyone should have a best friend. That person who knows you and loves you anyway, who laughs with you and at you and stands beside you through thick and thin.(and I'm not just talking waistlines)
That bestie for me is my husband. Am I lucky or what?
